Genevieve “Jerry” Martin, 87, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018 at a local health care facility. The Wurtland, Kentucky native was born Aug. 6, 1930, a daughter of the late Alva and Anna Elizabeth Enyart Mowery.

Jerry was a former ward clerk for the Lawrence County General Hospital.

She is survived by two daughters: Deanna Martin of Ironton and Cindy (Dave) Stanwick of Chillicothe; two sons, Jimmy Martin of Coal Grove and Rick (Norma) Martin of Ironton; a sister-in-law, Sarah Heighton of Ironton; a brother-in-law, Gerald Martin of Ironton; seven grandchildren, Tara Hammonds, Mandy Chaffins, Tracey Brown, Tiffany Graham, Staci King, Talia McAndrew, and Jess Martin; and twelve great grandchildren: Daranda Foglesong, Molly Chaffins, Katelyn Ferguson, Luke Ferguson, Clay Ferguson, Brittany Hammonds, Austin Hammonds, Beth Ann Brown, Zane Brown, Scheyer Graham, Baylor Graham, and Emilia Martin.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South Seventh Street, Ironton, Ohio. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.
