PEDRO — The South Point Lady Pointers took care of business early.
The Lady Pointers built a 21-point halftime lead and went on to beat the Rock Hill Redwomen 55-30 in an Ohio Valley Conference game on Monday.
Emilee Whitt scored 14 points including a pair of 3-pointers to lead the Lady Pointers (10-9, 7-5). Leah Lawson scored 10 points and Kate Mundy added nine.
Rock Hill (3-15, 0-13) was paced by Lucy Simpson with eight points while Ryleigh Morris and Mackenzie Hanshaw scored six each.
Whitt hit both her 3-pointers and scored eight points as South Point took a 19-8 lead. Lawson was 3-of-2 at the line and had six points.
The Lady Pointers extended their lead to 35-14 at the half.
Madison Kearns scored five of her seven points, Whitt scored four and Maddy Khounlavong hit a 3-pointer as the Lady Pointers scored 16 points.
Simpson scored all six or Rock Hill’s points including 4-of-6 at the foul line.
The Redwomen got four points from Morris in the third quarter and outscored South Point 8-6 and it was 41-22.
Mundy scored five points including a 3-pointer while Tessa Mitchell came off the bench to score four points in the fourth quarter.
Four different players scored for Rock Hill.
Symmes Valley visits Rock Hill on Wednesday for senior night.
On Thursday, Rock Hill hosts Fairland and South Point entertains Coal Grove.
