Music options are many

Saturday night, legendary disco and R&B act KC and the Sunshine band will perform at the Paramount Arts Center in Ashland.

The concert is one of many big names to come through this year, which has already seen performances from Ronnie Milsap, Martina McBride and others and still has artists like The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Trace Adkins and Emmylou Harris and others planned.

And while the Paramount brings in established artists, there are venues to see up-and-coming acts, such as the V Club, which brought indie act Oak House to Huntington earlier this week.

And Catlettsburg is set to host their Labor Day Festival next weekend, culminating in a free performance by the Oak Ridge Boys on Sept. 4.

The enjoyment of a live concert is something everyone should enjoy, whether its seeing an old favorite come to town or getting the chance to hear a new band for the first time.

Thankfully, there are plenty of options in our region, from small clubs, to theaters, to the Big Sandy Superstore Arena.

We thank all those who make it possible to partake in this entertainment and encourage everyone to get out and enjoy a good show.
