William Bryant

Oct. 26, 1925 — June 24, 2017

William “Bub” Bryant, 91, of Coal Grove, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017, at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Kentucky.
Mr. Bryant was born Oct. 26, 1925, in Coal Grove, a son to the late Lawrence and Mable (Bruce) Bryant. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve Webb Bryant.
Mr. Bryant was a 1943 graduate of Dawson-Bryant High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in World War II and the Korean War. He retired from the Village of Coal Grove as an Administrator and Water Plant Operator, and was a former road crew employee for Ohio State Department of Highways. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Sheridan. Mr. Bryant loved his family, enjoyed spending time with them and was able to take care of his ill wife for 37 years.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by brother, Lawrence “Larry” Bryant; twin sister, Lillian “Sis” Henry; and two sisters, Wilma Winka and Eileen Dalton.
He is survived by daughter, Judy Carey, of Coal Grove; son, Brian (Lisa) Bryant, of Ironton; six grandchildren, Jenni Carey, Jody (Josh) Sands, Mary Beth Carey, Bryan Bryant, Misty Bryant and Brianna Bryant; and six great-grandchildren, Travis Carey, Trevor Carey, Cassidy Blum, Nash Sands, Karleigh Bryant and Ashlynn Stapleton.
Funeral services will be noon Thursday at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, Ironton, with pastor Billy Markins officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery, Ironton. Ricky Allen Lewis, 64, of Flatwoods, Kentucky, died Sunday, June 25, 2017, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital, Russell, Kentucky. He is survived by his wife, Vickie, of Louisville, Kentucky. Service times will be announced at a later date.
