In about one month, thousands will flock to the Lawrence County Fairgrounds in Proctorville for the annual Lawrence County Fair.
This year’s edition will run from July 9-15 with a variety of activities and events for all ages.
Although that week brings the excitement, it takes the many volunteers months of preparation to ensure everything goes according to plan as much as possible.
With the 4-H events, food, attractions and activities, many facets have to work together to provide event-goers with the best possible bang for their buck.
We applaud the work and dedication that each of these volunteers make each year to guarantee the county fair lives on for the next generation of families and 4-H groups.
Ultimately, the goal for the fair each year is to continue the long-standing 4-H work Lawrence County has realized for decades. But ensuring there is something for everyone at the county fair is a close second.
While there may be traffic delays at times, and long lines at your favorite food spot, be sure to take the time to thank one of the Lawrence County Fair board members and volunteers for their commitment to Lawrence County.
