Joseph C. Medinger, 100, of Ironton, died Monday, Nov. 15, 2010, at the home of his daughter, Mary Ann Stacey, of Bedford, Texas. He was the husband of the late Clara Frances Holtzapfel Medinger whom he married Sept. 29, 1943. He was the son of the late Jacob and Dora Donovan Medinger. He was an Army veteran. He was a member of Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church in Ironton. He was a member of the Waterson Council 1405 of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the UCT. He attended Saint Joseph High School. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Michael Stacey of Bedford; one son and daughter-in-law, J.C. and Mary Janet Medinger of Ironton; and one sister Rose McFann of Ironton. He is also survived by two grandsons, Dr. Nick J. and Amanda Medinger of Ironton and Christopher R. and Julie Medinger of Cincinnati; two granddaughters, Kevin and Holly Jennings of North Richland Hills, Texas; and Dr. Kenton and Hillary Goh of Rogersville, Tenn.; nine great grandchildren, Brady and Blake Medinger of Ironton; Tate Medinger of Cincinnati; Allison, Adam, Ashton, and Aven Jennings of North Richland, Texas; and LI-Wan and Pansa Goh of Rogersville, Tenn. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Elizabeth Medinger, Ann Fairchild and Florence Medinger; and one brother John Medinger. Funeral services will be Friday at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church of Ironton at 11:00 a.m. with Father David Huffman officiating. Visitation will be Friday at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Donations can be made to Ashland Community Hospice.
