CROWN CITY — Drew Ramey didn’t was any time.
Ramey threw 51 pitches to get the five-inning complete game as the Green Bobcats beat the South Gallia Rebels 12-1 on Thursday.
Ramey allowed only three hits, struck out three and walked only one.
“Ramey threw strikes and let his defense play behind him,” said Green coach Dan McDavid.
“Our bats came back to life and we played pretty good defense. Tayte Carver had a nice game and Tyler Darnell had a big game. He did a of of different things to help us.”
Darnell was 2-3 with four runs scored, three stolen bases and an RBI. Carver was 2-4 with a double and five RBI while Trevor Carver went 3-4 with three RBI. Bryce Ponn was 2-4.
Green (13-3) scored single runs in each of the first three innings.
Tyler Darnell singled, stole second and came home on a hit by Trevor Carver in the first.
Ramey and Hayden Whitis walked to start the second, moved up on a wild pitch and Dawson Blevins grounded out as the run scored.
In the third, Darnell reached on an error, stole second, went to third on a wild pitch and came home when Tayte Carver grounded out.
The Bobcats rallied for five runs in the fourth to lead 8-1.
Whitis singled, Rylee Maynard put down a sacrifice bunt, Blevins walked and Darnell had an RBI single.
Tayte Carver then doubled in two runs, Trevor Carver singled home a run and went to second on the throw home and Bryce Ponn got an RBI single.
Green put the game away with four runs in the fifth.
Tyler Imes was hit by pitch, Derrek Brown singled and Darnell walked.
Tayte Carver had a two-run single, Trevor Carver singled in a run and a wild pitch scored the final run.
The Rebels got their only run in the second inning when Kouns was hit by a pitch to start the inning, stole second and scored on a two-out single by Stapleton.
Green hosts Portsmouth Notre Dame on Friday in a battle for first place in the Southern Ohio Conference.
