PROCTORVILLE — An educational program on Alzheimer’s Disease is scheduled for Thursday at Ohio University Southern’s Proctorville Center.

The Alzheimer’s Basics event, set for 1-2:30 p.m., is sponsored by the Lawrence County Homemakers and the southeastern Ohio branch of the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Cincinnati.

The program will provide information on detection of Alzheimer’s and dementia, causes and risk factors, stages of the disease, treatment and more.

The program is free of charge, but participants must register by calling Melissa Dever of the Alzheimer’s Association at 740-710-1821.
