Georgia Porter

Feb. 22, 1938 — March 20 2017

Georgia L. Conley Porter, 79, of Wildwood, Florida, passed away Monday, March 20, 2017. Mrs. Porter was born Feb. 22, 1938, in Belborn, West Virginia, to Orville and Erla (Pitsenbargar) Conley. She moved to Wildwood in 1973 from Arlington, Ohio.
Georgia was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wildwood and was an avid reader and loved making crafts.
Survivors include her loving husband of 62 years, Ronald; children, Ronald Kyle Porter and Mary Trask, of Wildwood, and Jane and Jeff Morgan, of Winchester, Kentucky; sisters, Barbara Dickess, of Aid, and Nila Fliehman, of Plant City, Florida; brother, Orville “Butch” Conley and his wife, Rita, of Pedro; five grandchildren; and 6 and a half great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday with visitation from 1-2 p.m. in the Banks/Page-Theus Chapel. Interment will follow the service in Greenwood Cemetery, Wildwood. Brenda Patrick

July 19, 1950 — March 21, 2017

Brenda S. Patrick, 66, of Waterloo, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at the Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus. The McArthur native was born July 19, 1950, a daughter of the late James and Helen Sorrell.
She is survived by her husband, William J. Patrick, whom she married Dec. 3, 1989.
Brenda was a graduate of Vinton County High School in McArthur. She was a former cashier for the R&D Grocery in Aid and was a member of the Slab Fork United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael Finn.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Tammy (Carl) Coy, Crystal (John) Sharp, and Terri (Keith) Davis, all of Jackson; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home in Ironton, with pastor Clyde Pennington officiating. Burial will follow in Slab Fork Cemetery with visitation will be 1 p.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home. Martha E. Adkins, 81, of  Huntington, West Virginia, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at home. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville.
Dale Simpson
Aug. 12, 1945 — March 22, 2017

Dale Simpson, 71, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. The Ironton native was born Aug. 12, 1945, a son of the late Armour and Irene Whitley Simpson.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie Cannon Simpson, whom he married Jan. 16, 1966.
Mr. Simpson was a 1963 graduate of Ironton High School and a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He was a former employee for Armco/AK Steel, retiring after 40 years of service in the maintenance department. He was a member of the Hurricane Road Grace Church in Ashland, Kentucky.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patty Rowe; and a brother-in-law, Charlie Rowe.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Adam (Kerry) Simpson and Aaron (Michelle) Simpson, all of Ironton; two daughters, Amy (Gene) Patterson and Abby (Eric) Floyd, all of Ironton; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Dave Bengtson, of Van Alstyne, Texas; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Pete and Donna Hatmaker, of Russell, Kentucky; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Christine and Pat Cannon, of Ironton; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Sugar Creek Cemetery with pastor Frank Tate officiating. Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, is assisting the family with the arrangements. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.

James N. McCloud, 93, of Proctorville, died Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at VA Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville.

William Shepherd II

William “Will” Timothy Shepherd, II, 31, of Huntington, West Virginia, died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Shepherd.
