Boxes are a blessing

Blessings are all around us each day and can come in a variety of ways. They can come in the form of good news from a friend or loved one, a good health report or a meal.
The blessing box at Coal Grove Memorial United Methodist Church, and others like it, are a great example of our desire as a community to help those in need.
These boxes provide essentials like non-perishable food, toiletries, cleaning products and clothing to individuals or families who need it.
While we are very fortunate to have individuals, businesses and organizations who are always willing to step up and help others, we have many more who need help with meals, clothing or cleaning supplies.
We applaud the efforts of the church and any others who work tirelessly with their efforts and focus on those in need.
All too often, those in need may not know where to go for help or simply don’t want the attention. These types of opportunities allow both potential issues to be alleviated.
In the end, this and other efforts are about helping those in the community who need it most.
