All too often, a place to call home is something that we can take for granted.  And for many in our region, having a roof over their head every night is something that can be much more difficult than imagined.

However, for the Ashland-Ironton Area Habitat for Humanity, the goal is to afford families the ability to relieve that burden. And that was the case this past Saturday, when the organization dedicated a home for an Ironton family.

We applaud the efforts of these civic and nonprofit organizations throughout the Tri-State, whose main objective is to better the outlook for individuals and families. But it is equally as important to recognize the thousands of volunteers who are the lifeblood that allow these projects to be completed.

Whether it is physical labor, planning, or sponsorships and donations, each aspect plays a pivotal role in allowing the efforts to help others.

And it would be easy for those who are receiving the help to simply take the assistance, but just like so many Lawrence Countians, they are willing to jump in and be a part of the process or look to help others.

These types of projects are ultimately a benefit to all.
