PARKERSBURG, W.Va. — Life on the road can be hard. Very hard.
The St. Joseph Female Flyers shot only 19 percent in a 53-28 loss to the Parkersburg Catholic Crusaderettes on Friday.
St. Joseph was just 10-of-52 from the field, 4-of-17 from behind the arc and 40iof-10 at the foul line.
Morgan Turner had 12 points and four rebounds for St. Joseph (10-11). Ashley Bartram grabbed seven rebounds and Ashlee Blankenship four.
Parkersburg Catholic (11-9) was led by Olivia Ullman with 18 points, Alexis Saunders 15 and Madeline Huffman added 10.
Ullman scored five points and Emma Gardner four as the Crusaderettes took an 18-10 first quarter lead. Kaitlin Sheridan had four points for St. Joseph.
Huffman had five points as the Crusaderette outscored St. Joseph 16-8 in the second quarter to lead 34-18 at the half.
The Crusaderettes went up 48-24 in the third quarter as St. Joseph had just six points — all by Turner on a pair of 3-pointers.
St. Joseph plays at Rock Hill on Monday.
