Rosella Bonzo

March 14, 1925 — Feb. 2, 2017

Rosella Faye (Riddlebarger) Bonzo, 91, of Ironton, passed away, Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017, in Crystal Care, Franklin Furnace. Mrs. Bonzo was born March 14, 1925, a daughter to the late Clarence and Biance (Stratton) Riddlebarger. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Albert Bonzo, whom she married Aug. 28, 1948.
Mrs. Bonzo was a graduate of Lucasville Valley High School. Rosella went on to complete a business course and did office work for six years prior to her marriage. She also worked as a table inspector of airplane parts in a defense plant in Springfield during World War II. In addition, she was a homemaker and worked with her husband on their farm. Rosella was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son, David Keith Bonzo; brother, Howard Lee Riddlebarger; and grandson, Joshua Keith Bonzo.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by son, Randall (Linda) Bonzo, of Portage, Michigan; daughter, Shawna Bowen, of Ironton; daughter-in-law, Aida Bonzo, of Pedro; four sisters, Ruth Buchannan, of Cincinnati, Thelma Keyes, of Fort Myers, Florida, Donna Dalton, of Pasadena, Texas, and Jeannie Sims, of Lehigh Acres, Florida; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Riddlebarger, of Portsmouth; eight grandchildren, Melissa Bonzo, of Pedro, Jessica (Ron) Miller, of Wheelersburg, Kendra Staten, of Boston, Massachusetts, Sarah Rose Bonzo, of Portage, Michigan, John Michael Bowen, of Ironton, Kayla Bonzo, of Columbus, Keith Bonzo, of Charlottesville, Virginia, and Rebecca (Carl) Bingham, of Chicago, Illinois.; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews, who will mourn her passing.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, Ironton, with the Rev. Calvin Evans officiating.  Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Franklin Furnace. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

Louis Ellis

Louis Jr. Ellis, 90, of Ironton, passed away Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017, at his residence. The Lawrence County native was born Feb. 2, 1927, the son of the late Pete Ellis and Martha Justice Ellis.  He is survived by his wife of 50-plus years, Barbara Aldridge Ellis, of Ironton.
Louis attended Hecla Schools and was a former butcher for Bolls Meat Market. He also loved hunting, gardening, flea markets, and spending time with his family. He is of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, George Ellis, Pete Ellis and Ben Ellis; and five sisters, Faye Lewis, Blanche Waddle, Sadie Rawlins, Mabel Russell and Mayme Lewis.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Jeff (Shelly) Ellis, of Pedro, Roger (Cindy) Stewart, of Findlay, Curt Stewart, of Hamler, and Mark (Joyce) Stewart, of Bellview, Florida; 10 daughters, Angela Ellis (James) Shotwell, of Constantine, Michigan, Sharon Hazlett, of Gastonia, North Carolina, Rita (Bill) Stann, of Kitts Hill, Donna Snelson, Jeannie Cronin, Janet Phifer and Linda Jurvock, all of Fremont, Rose (Jeff) Palmer, of Ironton, Jackie Strik, of McComb, and Tammy (John) Shope, of Deshler; 39 grandchildren; several great-granchildren; and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with the Rev. Jesse Sizemore officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrence Furnace Cemetery. Christopher Michael Burgy, 42, of Huntington, West Virginia, died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017, at home. There will be no services. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, assisted the family with arrangements.

Ronald Lee “Ronnie” Salyers, 57, of Flatwoods, Kentucky, died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods with pastor Lloyd L. Harry F. “Fuzzy” Farley, 72, of Huntington, West Virginia, died Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington. He is survived by his wife, Linda Farley. There will be no services. Marvin Ray Fulton, 84, of South Point, died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017, at Heartland of Riverview, South Point.
