Maida Blagg

June 18, 1955 — Jan. 25, 2017

Maida Lynn Blagg, 61, of Pedro, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017. The Lawrence County native was born June 18, 1955, a daughter of the late Curtis “Gene” and Laura Glenda Markel McFann. She is survived by her husband, Fred E. Blagg, whom she married Nov. 16, 1974.
Maida is a 1974 graduate of Rock Hill High School and a former employee of Tipton’s Bakery, Cabletron, and Liebert.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Susan Sharp and Kelli McFann; a brother, Tony McFann; father-in-law, Fred Blagg Sr.; a sister-in-law, Betsy McFann; and brother-in-law, Danny Sharp.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, Michael Blagg, of Ironton, and Kevin (Robin) Blagg, of Pedro; five brothers, Roger (Shirley) McFann, of Benbrook, Texas, Rick (Penny) McFann, of Jackson, Kim McFann, Bill (Jeanette) McFann and Joey (Karen) McFann, all of Pedro; grandchildren, Hunter Blagg, Ethan Blagg, Connor Blagg, Austin Blagg, Ryleigh Blagg and Carsen Blagg; mother-in-law, Carol Blagg, of Pedro; a true neighbor, Audrea Malone; three aunts, Judy Wilson, of Ironton, and Marjorie Markel and Vera Markel, both of Pedro; an uncle, Ford Delawder, of Oak Hill; and several nieces and nephews.
Maida’s kind and caring life has touched many people. There will forever be a void.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with the Rev. Billy McFann and the Rev. Ronnie Blagg officiating. William Adkins

William D. Adkins, 75, of Ona, West Virginia, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017, at home. He is survived by his wife, Sara Nell Adkins.

Elizabeth Alice Christian, 72, of South Point, died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017, at King’s Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, Kentucky.

Alfred S. Clark, 88, of Chesapeake, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington, West Virginia.
