Court hears CSS violation, theft cases

An Ironton resident was sentenced to four years of community-controlled sanctions in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court Wednesday.

Kelly A. Johnson, 26, of 366 Susan Ct., Ironton, pleaded guilty to theft from a disabled person and theft of drugs. Judge D. Scott Bowling also ordered Johnson to successfully complete the STAR community justice program. Johnson was also ordered to pay restitution.

Shawn A. Delong, 33, of 265 Private Rd. 150, Pedro, admitted he violated the terms of his community-controlled sanctions. Judge Charles Cooper sentenced Delong to successfully complete the STAR community-justice program.

James C. Thompson, 33, of 204 Rockwood Ave., Chesapeake, pleaded not guilty to gross sexual imposition. Thompson’s alleged victim is a female under 13 years old. Cooper continued Thompson’s bond from a lower court and set a pretrial for Nov. 17.

Aaron Fields, 21, of 104 Remy St., Coal Grove, pleaded guilty to one count of receiving stolen property. Cooper sentenced Fields to four years of community-controlled sanctions and ordered him to successfully complete the STAR community-justice program.

Christopher L. Martin, 22, of 1524 S. Fourth St., Ironton, pleaded not guilty to possession of drugs. Bowling set bond at $10,000 and scheduled a pretrial hearing for Nov. 17.

Joshua D. Brumfield, 23, of 2341 County Rd. 22, Ironton, denied violating the terms of his community-controlled sanctions. Bowling set a CCS trial for Nov. 10.

Brian K. Williams, 31, of 913 Vernon St., pleaded not guilty to aggravated drug possession. Bowling set bond at $10,000 on his own recognizance and set a pretrial for Nov. 24.

Scott B. Ulrey, 50, of 2110 S. Ninth Street, Ironton, pleaded not guilty to grand theft, Bowling set bond at $10,000 cash and $10,000 OR. A pretrial hearing has been set for Dec. 1.

Erin Campbell, 28, of 226 Tenth Ave., Huntington, W.Va., pleaded not guilty to aggravated drug possession and drug possession. Bowling set bond at $20,000 OR and scheduled a pretrial hearing for Nov. 17.

Scotty McDonald, 24, of 3538 County Rd. 31, Chesapeake, pleaded not guilty to failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer. Bowling scheduled a pretrial hearing for Dec. 1.

Terry I. Unrue, 33, of 3028 S. Fourth St., Ironton, pleaded not guilty to breaking and entering, two counts of endangering children and one count of failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer. Bowling set bond at $50,000 OR and scheduled a pretrial for Dec. 1.
