Leonard West, Jr.

Sept. 21, 1931 ­­­— Dec. 18, 2016

Leonard “Peck” West, Jr., 85, of Ironton, passed away Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016, at a local health care facility. The Ironton native was born Sept. 21, 1931, a son of the late Leonard and Nellie Abbott West.
Mr. West was a graduate of Coal Grove High School and a former maintenance foreman for the Dayton Malleable Iron Company/Amcast, retiring after 27 years of service. He was a member of the Eagles and the Moose.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kim Dickess; four sisters, Helen Davis, Maxine Walizer, Patty Easterling and Joyce Deer; and a brother, Sam West.
He is survived by three sons, Paul (Betsy) West, of Kitts Hill, Thomas West, of Coal Grove, and Leonard Dale West, of Hecla; two daughters, Gloria Harring, of Dayton, and Elizabeth (Greg) Stevens, of Flatwoods, Kentucky; 15 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be noon Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with the Rev. James Cremeans officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery and visitation will be 11 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Brea Hanshaw

Brea Shantell Hanshaw, 25, of Ironton, died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016, at St. Mary’s Medical Center-Ironton Campus. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Ice Creek Cemetery with pastor Mike Huff officiating. Frank Lundy, Jr.

Frank Everett Lundy, Jr., 64, of South Point, died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016, at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Marcia Lundy. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville.

Donald Noble

Oct. 15, 1958 — Dec. 17, 2016

Donald Noble, 58, of Wheelersburg, Noble Hill and Ironton areas of Lawrence County, passed away Dec. 17, 2016, at the SOMC Hospice Care Center in Portsmouth.
He was born Oct. 15, 1958, in Ironton, a son of the late William Lace Noble and the late Nellie Marie Noble. Donald was an Auto and Motorcycle Mechanic.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Billy, Ronnie and Lawrence Noble; and a sister, Helen Noble Snell.
He is survived by his two brothers, John and Carl Noble; an aunt, Florence Lykins; a girlfriend, Sonya Stapleton; a special friend, Rebecca Cooper; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of the Brown Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Leroy Blevins officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckeye Cemetery.

Howard Fout

May 24, 1938 — Dec. 17, 2016

Howard Eugene Fout, 78, of Ironton, passed away Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. The Lawrence County native was born May 24, 1938, the son of the late Wilson and Willa Mullins Fout. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ida Mae Miller Fout, whom he married March 4, 1957.
Mr. Fout attended Pedro schools and was a former car man for the C&O Railroad in Russell, Kentucky, retiring in 1992 after 35 years of service there. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed traveling with the grandchildren to Amish country and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six sisters, Beverly Simpson, Carol Regina Salyers, Linda Hieronimus, Evelyn Truitt, Pauline Thompson and Beulah Prince.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Gary Fout and Perry (Johnda) Fout, both of Ironton, and Larry Fout, of Waterloo; a daughter, Teri (Steve) Maynard, of Pedro; two brothers, Robin Fout, of Ironton, and Jeff Fout, of Waterloo; a sister, Rita Boggs, of Ironton; five grandchildren, James Maynard, Keri Fout, Hannah Fout, Jacob Fout, and Amanda Fout; and one great-grandchild, Emma Jo Waugh.
Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday in Hecla Cemetery with Bro. Dave Schug officiating. Visitation will be 1:30-2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.
