PEDRO — The Rock Hill Redmen must have stayed Thursday night at the Holiday Inn Express in Ironton and accidentally left a wake-up call for 8:30 P.M. instead of A.M.
Leading the winless Fairland Dragons just 12-6 at the half, Rock Hill exploded for 36 second half points en route to a 48-6 Ohio Valley Conference win.
The Redmen (4-1, 1-1) did not attempt a pass as seven different ballcarriers ran 46 times for 358 yards.
Logan Hankins led a balance running game with 114 yards on six carries with a touchdown. Trystan Matney had 77 yards on seven tries and three touchdowns.
Brady Knipp added 63 yards on seven attempts, Mason Darby rushed 10 times for 58 yards and a touchdown, and Tanner Martin added 27 yards on four rushes.
Fairland drove deep into Rock Hill territory before the Redmen defense stiffened and took over the ball at the 1-yard line.
After a 3-yard gain by Darby, Hankins broke loose for a 96-yard touchdown run and it was 6-0 at the 10:02 mark.
The Redmen went up 12-0 on a 3-yard run by Trystan Matney before Fairland cut the deficit to 12-6 with 3:05 left in the half on a  4-yard run by Chase Fisher.
Ah, then came the second half.
Matney burst 19 yards for a touchdown and Tanner Martin threw to Corey Shope for the conversion and Rock Hill led 20-6.
Darby then ran 11 yards for a touchdown and Matney kicked the conversion to make it 27-6 midway through the quarter.
Matney powered his way 5 yards for a touchdown with 2:11 on the clock and his conversion kick pushed the lead to 34-6.
Matt Malone had a 2-yard scoring run with 4:28to play and Tyler Damron put the exclamation point in the scoring as he returned an interception 44 yards for a touchdown.
Next Friday Rock Hill visits South Point while Fairland travels to Gallipolis.
