PORTSMOUTH — The Gallipolis Blue Devils made it 2-for-2.
The Blue Devils won a second straight Ohio Valley Conference golf title on Friday as they finished 35 strokes ahead of runner-up Portsmouth.
Gallipolis had a 332 team score, Portsmouth 367, the Ironton Fighting Tigers were third at 369, the Coal Grove Hornets had a 372, the Fairland Deragons 380, the Chesapeake Panthers 388, the Rock Hill Redmen 409 and the South Point Pointers 486.
Gallipolis had all four of its top scorers make the All-OVC team led by Josh Davis with an 80. Taee Hamid and Kaden Thomas shot an 83 while Jeremy Brumfield had an 86.
Chesapeake’s Derek Lemley was the conference medalist for the second straight year with a 71 on the Portsmouth Elks Golf Course.
Also named All-OVC were Coal Grove’s Trevor Deere with a 79, Rock Hill’s Logan Reed with an 91, Fairland’s Reece Bellville with an 85, Ironton’s Chandler Dodson with an 87, and Portsmouth’s Austin Jones at 78 and William Sturgill with an 83.
