WILLOW WOOD — It was quite a battle.
The St. Joseph Female Flyers beat the Symmes Valley Lady Vikings in a grueling five-set volleyball game on Wednesday.
St. Joseph won 25-22, 21-25, 25-22, 12-25 and 15-11 in the tiebreaker.
The Lady Vikings were led by Kinley Patterson with 21 points including two aces. Sierra Ross had 14 points — seven aces —while Makayla Herrell had 10 points (two aces) and Eric Ross had four aces as she scored nine points.
Herrell and Patterson racked up 12 kills each. Erica Ross had 16 assists and Sierra Ross 12.
Sierra Ross and Patterson came up with 21 digs apiece while Erica Ross had 12.
The Lady Vikings visit Green in a varsity-only game at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
