MINFORD — This tie wasn’t like kissing your sister. It was more like a hug on the first date from your girlfriend.
The South Point Pointers battled back from a 2-0 first half deficit to tie the Minford Falcons 2-2 on Tuesday.
“Minford is big, fast and athletic,” said Pointers’ coach Zane Joy. “They went up on us the first half, but we rebounded really well and played well. We battled back hard. If we can get that kind of effort, we can have some success.”
Jeremy Fuhrmann had both of Minford’s goals in the first half with Tanner Gampp getting an assist on the first score.
But the Pointers’ Merrick Harris scored a pair of unassisted goals in the second half to tie the game _ the second coming at the 65:00 mark.
South Point goalkeeper Jordan Perkey had seven saves. Minford’s Tate Coriell had four.
