Delores Massie
Delores “Dee” Jean Massie, 78, of Patriot, passed away on Friday, Aug. 26, 2016, at Arbors at Gallipolis.
She was born May 7, 1938, in Samaria, Kentucky, daughter of the late Earl and Virginia Campbell Shearer. Dee married Charles Massie on Nov. 9, 1957, and he preceded her in death. She was a 1956 graduate of Waterloo High School and a retired LPN having worked at Lawrence County General Hospital and Middleton Estates. Dee was a member of Flagsprings Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher. She attended Waterloo Methodist and Rehobeth Church. She was the secretary/treasurer of Crime Watch of Cadmus, Ohio community.
Surviving are her daughter, Victoria “Vicki” Massie (Robert Stanley) and her son, Stephen (Kelly) Massie, both of Patriot; two grandsons, Charles Isaac Massie and Stephen Patrick Massie; a brother, Lewis (Bonnie) Shearer, of Columbus; three sisters, Margaret Hammond, of Portsmouth, Jenny (Richard) Frasher, of Lucasville and Shirley Finney, of Florida; a brother-in-law, Jason Massie, of Patriot; and a special friend, Karen Luckeydoo, of Gallipolis. A special thanks to the second floor staff of Arbors for their care.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Charles Massie, Dee was preceded in death by a brother, Darrell Shearer.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Kenneth Howell officiating. Burial will follow in Flagsprings Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. prior to the service on Monday.

Evalee Davisson
Oct. 13, 1927 — Aug. 25, 2016
Evalee G. Davisson, 88, of Kitts Hill, passed away Thursday, Aug. 25, 2016, at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Kentucky. Mrs. Davisson was born Oct. 13, 1927, a daughter to the late Clarence and Mary (Melvin) Gossett. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Eugene Davisson, who passed away May 7, 2015.
Mrs. Davisson was a 1945 graduate of Kitts Hill High School, attended Wilmington College and received her bachelor’s degree from Marshall University. She was a retired teacher for Rock Hill Local School District, where she worked for approximately 40 years. She was a former National Honor Society Advisor and Rock Hill Teacher of the year. She was a member of Central Christian Church, where she sang in the choir. She was a member/officer for the Kitts Hill Grange. Her hobbies included quilting, sewing and gardening.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Mary L. and Tony Virgin, of Kitts Hill; daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Dan Evans, of Ironton; son and daughter-in-law, Don and Jennifer Davisson, of Fairview, Tennessee; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Betty and Ed Champagne, of Kettering; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joanne Davisson Gill (Deceased) and Jack Gill, of Cheshire, Connecticut; grandchildren, Katie and Mark Sutton, of Kitts Hill, Tyler and Justine Virgin, of Kitts Hill, Claire and Trey Stai, of Lexington, Kentucky, Heidi and Jay Blaisdell, of Nashville, Tennessee, Sara Kerecman, of Ironton, Zane Davisson, of Fairview, Tennessee, and Carmen Davisson, of Fairview, Tennessee; and seven great-grandchildren, Aubrey Sutton, Ethan Sutton, Elle Virgin, Ealynn Virgin, Elise Virgin, Eris Virgin and Kemper Kerecman.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at the Central Christian Church, Ironton, with Minister Willie Purdee officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens and visitation will be from noon until the time of the service Monday at the church. Loretta Spillman
Loretta Jean Suttles Spillman, 67, of South Point, the beloved wife of the Rev. Donald E. Spillman, and the daughter of the late Clark David and Mary Elizabeth Suttles, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Aug. 25, 2016, peacefully at home.
She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who was very loving and caring. A devoted Christian of the United Baptist faith, she lived her life sharing the Lord with others through words and her beautiful voice.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her infant son, Mark Anthony Gholson; and sisters, Betty Gail Suttles (Frank) Johnson and Janet Suttles (Ed) Sissler.
She is survived by son and wife, Jason and Jessica Gholson, of Jacksonville, Florida; daughter, Sheryl Jean Gholson and fiancé, Toni Lemon, of Marysville, Kansas; stepson, Chris Gholson, of Columbus; seven stepchildren, Constance Smith, of Ashland, Kentucky, Patricia Spillman, of Ashland, Kentucky, Margaret Newman, of Proctorville, Violet Hoff, of Raceland, Kentucky, Dawn Houston, of Findlay, Shari Spillman, of Ashland, Kentucky, and Donald Spillman, of Huntington, West Virginia.
She was also blessed with five grandsons, Cameron, Byron, Drew, Zach and Tyler; 13 step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be noon Monday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with the Rev. Willard Blankenship and the Rev. Jeff Cremeans. Burial will follow in Sugar Creek Cemetery and visitation will be 11 a.m. until the time of the service Monday.
