Local business leaders and community members came together Thursday evening at Glockner of Ironton for a Business After Hours event sponsored by Ironton aLive and the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce.

“It’s a great opportunity for Ironton business leaders to network and have a good time, and for Glockner to show off some of their vehicles.” Ginger Gillenwater, Ironton aLive chair, said. “We usually have three or four Business After Hours events a year with the last being our annual meeting.”

Guests enjoyed live music by Shane Runion as well as free appetizers provided by Bill Schaefer’s personal chef service, Haute Stuff, Inc., out of Greenup, Kentucky.

“We have a pretty good crowd enjoying good food and good music,” Sam Heighton, acting executive director of Ironton aLive, said. “It’s great because it gives businesses an opportunity to meet new people and socialize.”

The event was outdoors underneath a tent at Glockner of Ironton, just before the dealership celebrates one year of being in Ironton.

“We’ll be here one year this Saturday, but the people of Ironton have been so welcoming, it feels like we’ve been here forever,” Tim Glockner, owner of Glockner of Ironton, said. “We appreciate the businesses showing up and we have a great turnout. I can tell this community really rallies behind each other.”
