Getting refunds for cutting energy use at the Union-Rome Sewer plant was approved by the Lawrence County Commission at its regular Thursday meeting.
The refunds are part of a contract between the sewer district and EnerNOC as part of its emergency load response program.
“EnerNOC shall make all payments associated with customer’s participation in the program to the customer on a quarterly basis,” the contract states.
In his commissioner’s report Bill Pratt praised the county’s EMS.
“The EMS has long been a top priority,” Pratt said. “Our No. 1 job is to protect the public. That is what people really need.
In other action the commission:
• Accepted the resignation of Thomas Schneider as income maintenance worker;
• Approved a contract between the department of job and family services and West Publishing Corporation for location services of non-custodial parents through public records data for use by children’s services.
