Ironton season football tickets now on sale

Ironton Fighting Tigers’ season football tickets are now on sale for the 2016 season.

Ironton features five home games including four Ohio Valley Conference games. All games begin at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $37 per seat and checks should be made payable to the I.H.S. Athletic Department.

Fans should include a self-addressed stamped envelope. If a large amount of tickets are ordered, please apply extra postage. The postage should cover the weight of the order.

Fans should make sure to add a phone number with their order.

Tickets will be mailed starting on Aug. 26. If fans do not receive tickets by Sept. 2, please contact athletic director Mark LaFon at (740) 532-5235 during school hours.

The home schedule includes: Sept. 16 Ashland; Sept 23 South Point; Sept. 30 Chesapeake, Oct. 14 Coal Grove; Oct. 21 Gallipolis.

 

 

Ironton cheerleading

registrations planned

The Ironton grade school cheerleading registrations will be at the Ironton City Center, 301 S. Third St., from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 30.

Registration is open to grades 1-6 as of August 2016.

Fee is $30 each, $50 for a family of two plus $10 for each additional sibling.

 

 

OVC football preview Aug. 13 at South Point

The Ohio Valley Conference annual football preview will be held Saturday, Aug. 13, at South Point High School.

Teams will play two quarters. Home teams listed second. Here are the matchups:

5 p.m. Coal Grove vs. Rock Hill; 6 p.m. Portsmouth vs. Ironton; 7 p.m. Chesapeake vs. Fairland; 8 p.m. South Point vs. Gallipolis.

Admission is $5.

 

 

SNYS to host annual

benefit golf scramble

Special Needs Youth Sportsmen, Inc. (SNYS) will host its fourth annual benefit golf scramble on Sunday, Aug. 28, at Silo Golf Course located in Lavalette, West Virginia.

Proceeds from this event will benefit the many outreach programs of SNYS, such as annual fishing and hunting outings, as well as other outdoor events for special needs youth.

All activities conducted by SNYS are free to special needs participants and their parents.

The scramble will begin with a lunch for golfers at 12:45 p.m. The shotgun start will begin at 1:30.

Prizes will be presented to the first, second and third place teams. Other prizes will be given for hole in one, longest drive, longest putt, and closest to the pin.

CKCC hosting youth

volleyball league

The Ceredo-Kenova Community Center Volleyball League will conduct a fall league for any girls living in the Tri-State area entering grades 1-6.

Fee is $40 per child and $35 for each additional sibling.
