James Fugett

James Calvin Fugett, 55, of Ironton, died Saturday, July 16, 2016, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. James was born Dec. 19, 1960, in Ironton, where he resided all his life. He is the son of the late John Dee and Kathryn Gullett Fugett.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Ray Fugett; and a niece, Audra Delawder. He is survived by six brothers, Garland Fugett, of Coal Grove, Charles (Donna) Fugett, of Ironton, Gary (Connie) Fugett, of Ashland, Donald Fugett, David Fugett, both of Ironton, and Mark Fugett, of Maine; four sisters, Linda (Jim) Tate, of Heath, Mary (Chuck) Delawder, of Ironton, Loretta Thompson, of Ironton, and Donna (B.J.) Blair, of Coal Grove; and many nieces and nephews.

Cheryle Petty

Cheryle Sue (Bowman) Petty, 53, of South Point, passed away Friday, July 15, 2016, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington. The Ironton native was born Oct. 12, 1962, a daughter of late Thomas Bowman and Jacqueline (Snell) Bowman, of South Point.

Mrs. Petty was a 1981 graduate of Dawson-Bryant High School. Cheryle worked as a daytime manager of Judy’s Giovanni’s Pizza. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Ice Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Deering.

In addition to her mother, Cheryle is survived by a husband, Oliver Petty; a son, Nathan (Melissa) Petty, of Coal Grove; a daughter, Allisa Petty, of South Point; four sisters, Kim Vaughn, of South Point, Lisa Bowman, of South Point, Teresa K. Bowman, of Huntington, and Tina Clark, of Coal Grove; two brothers, Tom (Christy) Murphy, of South Point, and Brian Murphy, of Ironton; a stepbrother, John Bruce, of South Point; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her dad, Cheryle was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Ray Bowman.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home with Brother Darell Hager officiating. Burial will follow at Community Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Donations may be made in Cheryle’s memory to Team Toni, 1377 County Road 118, Chesapeake, OH 45619.

 

Tresea Moore

Tresea Ann Moore, 49, of Coal Grove, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky. The Ironton native was born Feb. 25,1967, a daughter of the late Doris Clifton Bailey.

Mrs. Moore was a graduate of Ironton High School and was an employee of Pick N Save.

She is survived by two sons, Gary II and Kayla Moore, of Coal Grove, and Kevin and Tomiko Moore, of South Point; sister, Doris Corbin of Marion; two brothers, John Bailey, of Marion, and Phillip and Toni Bailey, of Flatwoods; two grandchildren, Amiyah and Aaliya Moore, with another grandchild on the way.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home with pastor Mike Long officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Creek Cemetery and visitation will be Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home. To offer condolences to the family please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.

 

Ethel Mudd

Ethel McGinity Harper Mudd, 74, of Pinellas Park, Florida, currently residing in Huntington, died Saturday, July 16, 2016, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice of Huntington. Entombment will be at a later date at St. Mary Parish Peace Gardens Mausoleum in Star City, West Virginia. Arrangements are by Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point. Barbara Brown

Barbara Brown, 61, of Ironton, died Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at a local health care center. There will be a memorial service held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton.

 

Christine Short

Christine Short, 95, of Crown City, died Saturday, July 16, 2016, at home. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville.
