On July 9, The Concerned Citizens of the Burlington Area had its eighth annual basketball tournament.

We wish to express our gratitude to Quander Wilson and his team for all their efforts in making the tournament a huge success. Glockner Ford of South Point has supported Quander’s endeavors on our behalf. This year’s winners were BK Construction.

Our local Sam’s Club has also aided our efforts by providing much of our concession stand provisions. Aaron Jackson of Big Guys BBQ has always provided us with his famous BBQ ribs.

Also volunteers from the Concerned Citizens supported our efforts. Margaret Pennington, Tamara Jones, James Caldwell, Bobby Pennington, Mae Dell Williams, Jennifer Adkins, Edna McClain, Daniel Lucas and yours truly were on hand to make the day go smoothly.

All funds raised will go into projects at the Commons Park under the direction of Bernard Conwell.
