Jewell Miller
July 14, 1920 — June 25, 2016
Jewell Marie (Wilson) Miller, 95, of Patriot, passed away June 25, 2016, at Holzer Hospital, Gallipolis, after a sudden illness. She was born July 14, 1920, in Wayne County, West Virginia to the late Sidney and Susie (Pauley) Wilson.
Jewell was an active and devoted member of McDaniel Crossroads Pentecostal Church for 77 years.
She is survived by daughters, Carolyn (Don) Riddle, of Washington, West Virginia, Claudine (Glenn) Culp, of Canal Winchester, Shirley (Robert) Hill of Patriot, and Anita (Robert) Leach, of Parkersburg, West Virginia; grandchildren, Donna (Roger) Curfman, Sandra (Andrew) Lasseter, Angela (Jeffrey) Towner, Cheryl Swain, Sharon (Randy) Jones, Pamela (Jen) Leach, John Madden, Christopher Madden, Daniel Leach, Robert Ray Leach, Robert Shane (Monica) Hill, and Steven Hill; great-grandchildren Bradley Curfman, Ryan (Tabitha) Curfman, Jeremi Lasseter, Brandi Lasseter, Elias Towner, Maddelynn Towner, Trey Swain and Colby Swain; great-great-granddaughter, Sienna Lasseter; sister Gladys Ourant; brother Sidney (Mary) Wilson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Claude Miller; stepmother Marie (Riggs) Wilson; sister Helen Carpenter; and brother William Wilson.
Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. today at Willis Funeral Home, Gallipolis.

John Barber
Feb. 5, 1954 — June 24, 2016
John Gregory Barber, 62, of Albany, formerly of Dayton, passed away Friday, June 24, 2016, as a result of a motorcycle accident. He was born Feb. 5, 1954, in Dayton, son of John Ward Barber of Albany and the late Betty Ruth Wiley Barber.
Greg was a former machinist, a member of the Delta Lodge 207 F&AM in McArthur and the McArthur VFW Post 5299.
He is survived by his daughter, Ruth Ellen (James) Heidenreich, of Dayton; son, John Gregory (Jennifer) Barber, of Dayton; three grandchildren; brother, Roger Barber; sister, Darlene (Paul) Barber-Morris; and nieces and nephews, Jennifer Brooks, Roger Barber Jr., Rachel Barber and Jessica Barber.
In addition to his mother, Greg is preceded in death by his nephew, Michael Ward Barber.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m., Saturday at the McArthur VFW Post 5299, 401 Veterans Memorial Drive, McArthur. No calling hours will be observed.

Doris Dalton
Feb. 17, 1927 — June 27, 2016
Doris Jane Dalton, 89, of Ironton, passed away Monday, June 27, 2016, at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland. Mrs. Dalton was born Feb. 17, 1927, in Lawrence County, a daughter to the late Carlos and Lillian (Mowery) Humphrey. She is preceded in death by her husband Lloyd A. Dalton.
Mrs. Dalton was a 1944 graduate of Kitts Hill High School. She was retired sales clerk for JC Penney Company, where she worked for 50 years. Mrs. Dalton was a lifetime member of Central Christian Church and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, especially attending all of their sporting events. She was affectionately known as “Snook” and “Nan.”
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son, Darryl A. Dalton; sister, Naomi Nance; and two brothers, Warren Humphrey and John C. Humphrey.
She is survived by daughter, Vicki Dalton Primm, of Ironton; two granddaughters, Jennifer (Kevin) Lewis of Pedro and Madison (Eli Christian) Bowen, of Ironton; four great-grandchildren, Eli Lewis and Jonah Lewis, both of Pedro, and Bowen Gossett and Finn Gossett of Ironton.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home with pastor Dusty Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery and visitation will be 11 a.m. Wednesday until time of the service. Christopher Lang
Christopher Robert Lang, 36, of Chesapeake, died Sunday, June 26, 2016, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville.
Judy McMahon
May 9, 1942 — June 25, 2016
Judy G. McMahon, 74, of Ironton, was called home to be with her heavenly father on Saturday, June 25, 2016. The Coal Grove native was born May 9, 1942, a daughter of the late Rev. K. David Click and Garnett Addis Click.
Mrs. McMahon was a longtime member of Sugar Creek Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Dawson Bryant High School in Coal Grove and a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John T. (Johnny) McMahon; her daughter, Tammy Hannon; sister, Deanna K. Roy; brother-in-law, James B. Roy; and nephew, J. David Roy.
She is survived by her son, Tim Hannon, of Chesapeake; brother-in-law, Terry C. (Dana) McMahon, of Land O Lakes, Florida. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be noon Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home with pastor Mike Long officiating. Burial will follow in Zoar Cemetery, Coal Grove.
