HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — For more than 30 years, Hospice of Huntington has cared for thousands of patients with life-limiting illnesses and provided their families with the continued emotional and spiritual support they may need.

Though most patients receive hospice care in their home, situations may arise that require an enhanced level of patient service. Hospice of Huntington’s Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House has filled that role for the past 10 years.

Hospice of Huntington is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. This milestone represents the continuing commitment of community partners, volunteers and the Hospice of Huntington staff who have supported the Hospice House over the years.

The Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House was built in 2006 along the banks of the Ohio River and was designed to be a home away from home for patients.

The Hospice House aids patients with pain and symptom control, provides respite care and offers limited short term residential care for qualified patients.

Hospice of Huntington is hosting an open house to provide the community an opportunity to visit and learn more about the Hospice House, Hospice home care services, or just share a memory.

Members of the community that have been touched by the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House or who would like to learn more are welcome to stop by.

The celebration is 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, located at 3100 Staunton Road, Huntington. Light refreshments will be served.

“The Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House serves as a special care environment for loved ones,” said Melanie Hall, president and CEO of Hospice of Huntington. “We are blessed to have the Hospice House and the care options it provides to our patients and their families.”
