Volunteers made Memorial day special

Memorial Day has come and gone. We, as Americans, celebrated this glorious day with pride, honor and conviction. In Ironton we have a proud honor as having the longest consecutive running parade to honor our soldiers past and present.
It is for these brave men and women that we owe our deepest gratitude. There is nothing stronger than the heart of a volunteer. This is why, on behalf of the Blue Knights Kentucky VIII, I would like to personally thank the Ironton-Lawrence County parade committee volunteers for the wonderful job they did for setting up the parade and assisting with the Ohio Flags of Honor.
Without their guidance and conviction, this event could not have been possible. Between the monetary contributions from many contributors, hard work, long hours and dedication, once again, the Memorial Day parade has been a great success. Just as the parade itself, the Flags of Honor could not have been possible, without the hard work and dedication of volunteers that help make the display so beautiful for all to see.
Please come see us next year. We shall return.
I wish to thank the volunteers for there unselfish time, hard work and dedication for making the Flags of Honor, once again, a huge success: The STAR Community Justice Center; the Honorable Judge Collins work program; Nathan Dickerson of the Lawrence County Engineers Office; the Legion Riders; and the firefighters and first responders of the following townships: Upper, Coal Grove, Hamilton, Fayette, South Point, Proctorville and Rome; along with all the co-sponsors listed on our fliers that were passed out at their businesses all over the area.
Once again, one behalf of the Blue Knights of Kentucky VIII, we owe a debt of gratitude for these wonderful volunteers. Ride with pride and God bless the USA.
