Be prepared when storms arise

Less than a few weeks ago, it seemed like fall was trying to jump the line ahead of summer. However, summer seems to have officially held its place as temperatures have increased rapidly to what we are used to this time of year. However, with temperatures increasing brings the possibility of unpredictable and severe storms.
This leads to the increased possibility of damage to residents’ property.
Of course, property like houses and vehicles are always the most susceptible to those damaging storms, but other things like culverts, drainage and roadways see an increased exposure.
For residents and county officials, having a plan in place can help reduce the potential losses or impairments.
Unfortunately, Lawrence County has seen several severe storms that left a variety of issues in its wake.
While some instances of damage simply cannot be avoided, if it does occur, being cautious and informed is essential. This is especially true when hiring an individual or company to perform repairs to homes and automobiles. This means before signing any contract or making any payments, residents should thoroughly check the qualifications and other details like insurance before work begins.
Hopefully, we will not have any weather related issues this summer, but making the proper plans early may save a big headache later.
