The suspect in an alleged assault of a Briggs Lawrence County Library employee will be arraigned on Monday in Ironton Municipal Court.
On Friday Seth Coleman, 22, of Ironton, waived extradition at a Rowan County courtroom and was brought to the Lawrence County Jail that afternoon by the Ironton Police Department, according to Detective Joe Ross.
He was arrested at a Morehead hospital on Wednesday by Kentucky State Police, two weeks after the alleged incident.
On Jan. 15, at 4:30 p.m. a staff member reported to Ironton Police that a male suspect had come into the library and allegedly attempted to assault her with a weapon, according to the detective.
The worker screamed for help and co-workers responded.
Coleman is charged with felonious assault and will be in Judge O. Clark Collins’ courtroom at 1:30 p.m.
