Library incident under investigation

Police asking for public’s help
The Ironton Police Department is actively investigating an incident at the Briggs Lawrence County Library on Friday.
“At 4:30 p.m. we had a staff member call and report to us that a male subject came into the library and attempted to assault her with a weapon,” Detective Joe Ross said. “She screamed for help. Other workers from the library came to her aid.”
The police department is asking anybody with any information to call the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office at 740-532-3525 or the Ironton detective’s bureau at 740-532-5606.
