Spangler was arrested on the evening of Sept. 14, the same day as the second robbery, which was at Liberty Bank. The first robbery was on Sept. 8, at U.S. Bank.

At both robberies, a suspect entered the banks allegedly brandishing a handgun and demanding money from the tellers. No one was hurt during either incident.

Some cash was recovered after the arrest.

Ironton attorney Mike Davenport was assigned as the attorney for Spangler.
