Theft, drug and probation violation charges dominated the dockets on Wednesday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court.

Co-defendants Bradley King, 27, of Ash Street in Proctorville, and Briann Evans, 26, of 10 Private Drive 15, South Point, each pleaded guilty to amended counts of misdemeanor theft.

Judge D. Scott Bowling ordered presentence investigations in both cases and set sentencing for June 10.

Tony Edwards, 36, of 125 Township Road 1161 Lot 16C, Proctorville, who previously pleaded guilty in March to a fifth-degree count of theft, was arraigned on a bill of information on a fourth-degree count of failure to appear.

Edwards was originally supposed to be sentenced to the theft charge on March 25 but did not show up for his court appearance. He was arrested by a bonding agency earlier this month.

Edwards pleaded guilty to the new charge and was sentenced to four years community control sanctions under intensive supervised parole and 350 hours community service.

If he fails to abide by the terms of his CCS, he could face up to 28 months in prison, which the combined total of prison time for the theft and the failure to appear charge.

Bowling also ordered the man to pay $1,670 in restitution.

Taylor Stevens, 24, of Reed Street in Flatwoods, Kentucky, pleaded guilty to a fifth-degree count of possession of heroin. Bowling set sentencing for April 22.

Brent Lewis, 34, of 6451 County Road 21, Proctorville, who previously pleaded guilty to a fifth-degree count of possession of heroin and a fourth-degree count of trafficking in drugs, was sentenced to four years CCS/ISP, STAR, $3,750 in fines, 200 hours community service and a six-month driver’s license suspension.

Cane Jackson, 40, of 3194 Bunts Ave., Lakewood, was arraigned on three counts of fourth-degree trafficking in heroin, to which he pleaded not guilty. Bowling set bond at $10,000 cash or surety, $25,000 own-recognizance and GPS monitoring. A pretrial was set for May 6.

Sierra Hern, 19, of 401 Marion Pike, Coal Grove, who previously pleaded guilty to two third-degree counts of trafficking in Alpha-PVP, was sentenced to four years CCS/ISP and STAR. She will remain in the county jail until a bed at STAR is available.

Judge Charles Cooper also ordered the woman to pay $10,000 in fines and suspended her driver’s license for six months. If she fails to abide by the terms of her CCS, she could go to prison for up to six years.

Shana Pinkerman, 30, of 2514 S. Ninth St., Ironton, admitted CCS violations and was sentenced to 1,051 days in prison, with a possible judicial release to STAR.

Tabitha Horsley, 26, of 109 Pinecrest Drive, Ashland, Kentucky, who previously pleaded guilty to fifth-degree counts of theft and receiving stolen property, was sentenced to four years CCS/ISP and $295 in restitution.
