Bobby Hayes

Bobby Eugene Hayes, of Scottown, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was born in Dayton, Ohio son of the late Myron Berkley and Loma Dailey Hayes.

The family returned to Scottown, where Bobby grew up and attended Windsor schools. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He was a member of both the American Legion 93 Ceredo Kenova and the Proctorville VFW Post 6878.

He retired as senior mechanic with 27 years service from Novamont Corporation. He was also the fiscal officer of Windsor Township for 44 years. He was self-taught and very knowledgeable on many subjects and the “go-to” person in our family. He enjoyed gardening and loved sharing his fruit and vegetables with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Berkley and Geneva Hayes; a brother, Danny Hayes; a sister Doris Hayes; and brothers-in-law, Ona Tagg, Thomas Tredway and James Schriner. He is survived by five sisters, Betty Tagg, of Westerville, Patty Tredway, of Scottown, Peggy Schriner and Jim Shook, of Sterling Heights, Michigan, Kay Hayes, of Proctorville and Diana and Ed Wilgus, of Proctorville; two brothers, Tommy Hayes, of Proctorville, and Timmy and Karen Hayes, of Scottown, who lovingly cared for him during his final days; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bobby was a caring and loving brother and a devoted son who will be greatly missed.

Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville with pastor Darrell Fowler officiating. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Shirley Kelley

Shirley T. Kelley, 76, of Fairfield, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2014, at Mercy Fairfield. She was born on March 1, 1939 in Paintsville, Kentucky, to Orville and Goldy Bowling.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Kelley, in 2010. She is survived by her loving children, Kathy Triplett, Robert (Teresa) Kelley, and Mark Kelley; and dear grandchildren, Amber and Kelli Triplett. Shirley is also survived by her sister, Bonnie Russell; brother-in-law, Bill Kelley; sisters-in-law, Effie Gillespie, Sara (Jim) Davis, and Helen Kelley. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Jack and Jim Bowling.

Paul Edward Webb, 74, of Mineral Wells, Texas, formerly of Coal Grove, died Thursday, March 19, 2015, in Palo Pinto General Hospital, Mineral Wells. Clarence Koster

Clarence Leon Koster, 73, of Coal Grove, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. Mr. Koster was born May 11, 1941, the son of the late Clarence and Esther Irene Lewis Koster.

He graduated from Rock Hill High School in 1960 and was retired from Intermet Ironton Iron. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Donna L. Koster; a son, Gary Koster; three half brothers, Andrew Koster, Don Koster and Lawrence Koster; and a half sister, Wanda Carmen.

He is survived by two sons, Adam (Kim) Koster of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and John (Beth) Koster of Ironton; three sisters, Joyce Lawson and Karen Knipp, both of Ironton, and Stephenia Jenkins of Winter Place, Florida; two half sisters, Betty Washburn and Delores Depriest, both of Ironton; and six grandchildren, Will, Caleb, Hailee, Reagan, Jaron and Cannon, who will greatly miss him.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenny Lawson officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery and friends may call from 11 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Clifford Gore

Clifford A. “Tony” Gore, 57, of Coal Grove, went to his heavenly home on Saturday, March 21, 2015, after a brief stay at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, surrounded by his family. The Lawrence County native was born May 3, 1957, in Ironton, the son of Clifford and Donna Mae Stormes Gore, of Kitts Hill. He is survived by his wife, Janet Webb Gore, whom he married Oct. 4, 1997.

Mr. Gore was a 1976 graduate of Dawson-Bryant High School and a former pipefitter at CSX Railroad in Russell, Kentucky. He was a member of Sugar Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Tony enjoyed shooting and was a member of the Greenup County Wild Life Club. He also enjoyed watching dirt track racing and spending time with his dog, Cash.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry R. Gore; mother-in-law, Ruth Webb; paternal grandparents, Willard and Dove Gore; and maternal grandparents, Henry and Ruth Stormes.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by father-in-law, George Webb, of Ironton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Amanda and John Gillenwater, of Ironton; Tessa and David Pospishil, of Franklin Furnace; one stepdaughter and husband, Jamie and Ron Coleman of Ona, West Virginia; two sisters, Vicki Gore, of Coal Grove, and Michelle and Don Wert, of Columbus; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Terry Gore of Coal Grove, Kevin and Leah Gore, of Wheelersburg and Kathy Gore, of Kitts Hill; two brothers-in-law, Sam and Juanita Webb, of Milton, West Virginia, and Paul Webb, of Ironton; nieces and nephew, Nikki Gore, Jamie Gore Malone both of Kitts Hill, Tabitha Gore Valentine, Heath Gore, both of Coal Grove, and Amber Ochsenbein of Columbus; and stepgranddaughters, Megan Curnutte and Marisa Barnett.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home with pastor Billy Markins officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery and visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Frank Taylor, Jr., 78, of Ironton, died Thursday, March 19, 2015, in St. Mary’s Medical Center-Ironton Campus.
