PEDRO — This year, Myers Fastlane convenience store decided to do something special for the less fortunate children of the community.

The “Giving is the Heart of Christmas” event was at the store on Dec. 20, where a total of 18 children received socks, underwear, shoes and toys for Christmas. All of the items were donated.

When the children and their families arrived, they got to see Santa Claus, who gave them a treat bag, decorate Christmas ornaments and sugar cookies and receive their presents. Pizza was also served.

The families also received a box of food and hygiene items.
