PORTSMOUTH — Growing pains.
The South Point Pointers used Tuesday’s 67-34 Ohio Valley Conference loss to the Portsmouth Trojans as a learning experience.
“We’re young and inexperienced. We still don’t understand how to follow through on a game plan,” said Pointers’ coach Travis Wise. “But we’ll keep trying.”
The Pointers were just 12 of 38 from the field including a mere 2 of 16 from the 3-point line.
Brady Rickard had 8 points and Ryan Gibson 7 points to lead South Point (1-4, 1-1).
Sky Oliver had a game-high 20 points for the Trojans (4-0, 2-0). Ky’re Allison added 13 points.
The Pointers play Portsmouth West at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Shawnee State University.
