NELLIE NEAL

Nellie M. Neal, 79, of Chillicothe, formerly of Ironton, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 3:35 pm, Monday, Dec. 8, 2008, following an extended illness.
Nellie was born April 21, 1929 in Pikeville, Ky., a daughter of the late Benjamin F. and Mary Etta Newcomb Steed. On May 17, 1947 she was united in marriage to George D. Neal Sr., who preceded her in death July 28, 2001. Together they shared 55 years of marriage.
Surviving are her six children, Brenda (Lowell) Oney, Etta Faye Neal, and Rachel Harris, all of Chillicothe, the Rev. George (Cindy) Neal Jr., of Liberty, Ind., Ruth Moore and Paula Neal, at home; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter due anytime; a very dear and precious sister-in-law, Anna M. Steed, of Coal Grove; a brother-in-law, Edwin Lee Neal, of Ironton; several nieces; nephews and cousins and a close friend. Thomas Angus.
She was preceded in death by her ten brothers.
She was a loving mother and grandmother, who was previously employed by Bob Evans Restaurants as a head cook in the early 1970’s. Nellie lived her life by her testimony of her love for the Lord.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Haller Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mark Clendaniel officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call 6-8 pm Friday at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank Dr. Ellis Frazier for his wonderful care given her over the many years; the Ross Co. Home Health nurses, Calvin McCloud, Sandra Clancy, and Renee Siegley, who were loving and compassionate and whom Nellie loved. Thanks also to the nursing staff of 3A; Dr. Folzenlogan; and Dr. Naumovski. Special thanks to Rev. Mark Clendaniel and the Jefferson Ave. CCCU church family for their love and support.
