CHESAPEAKE — Robert Gwinn “Bob” Harmon, 83, of Chesapeake, passed from this life on Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, at his residence.
Bob was born Jan. 27, 1925, in Chesapeake, a son of the late Walter Gwinn and Myrtle Hattie Runyon Harmon. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II, a member of the Chesapeake United Methodist Church, a Kentucky Colonel, and a member of the Mississippi Queen Riverboat Club. Bob is survived by his wife, Dorothy Lou Keeney Harmon; and his special buddy, Benji.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. today at Rome Cemetery Mausoleum, Proctorville, with Rev. Daryl Fourman officiating. Entombment will follow. Visitation will be from 1 to 1:30 p.m. today at Rome Cemetery Mausoleum. Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home, Chesapeake, is in charge of arrangements.
