A property tax finance company has agreed to buy the tax liens on 101 parcels from County Treasurer Stephen Burcham.
TaxEase of Cincinnati will purchase the liens with back taxes and assessments of $387,000. Of that 75 percent will go to the school districts; 9 percent to the county’s general fund and the rest to the townships and villages.
Burcham reported that to the county commission during its Thursday regular meeting. The treasurer had offered approximately 200 parcels to TaxEase.
The ones the company didn’t take it will review again and then Burcham will offer them to another firm.
In other action the commission:
• Accepted the resignation of Adam Clark from the Lawrence County Animal Shelter;
• Approved the status report for the Community Development Block Grant.
