Community event offers fellowship

Over the next few days, the village of Chesapeake will be putting the finishing touches on its annual Octoberfest.
This is one of the many events throughout Lawrence County each year that affords those who attend the ability to have a good time and brings the community together.
The event will have several attractions including a fire prevention parade, several musical acts and vendors offering food and games.
Ultimately, these events provide our communities with the time of fun and fellowship with their neighbors and others from around the county and region.
This comes on the heels of Hanging Rock Fun Days, another community celebration designed to help people get to know their neighbors and allow the children in the community to have a good time in a safe, family-friendly environment.
Coal Grove has its Family Fun Days every July and is preparing for some of its Christmas celebrations.
South Point has begun its Party in the Park and looks to make it an annual event.
Although each community wants to continue to carve its own niche, it is important to remember that if we continue to work together and support one another, it can only make a stronger countywide community.
Doing this can lend a helping hand in the future outlook, as a strong community foundation can be a big part of luring in new businesses into our city and villages.
It is important that we continue to support these events each year.
