Rosemary Imes

Rosemary Bernice Imes, 76, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2014, at her residence. The Pasadena, California, native was born June 19, 1938, the daughter of the late Charles Hulbert and Pernilla “Polly” Wilson Culp. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Imes, whom she married Jan. 5, 1957, and passed away Aug. 6, 2011.

Rosemary was a graduate of Pasadena High School. She studied at Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles and Art Center of Design in Pasadena. She was a homemaker and former owner and operator of Culp Electric in Pasadena. She was a fantastic artist that taught art class at Maranatha High School and continued to take art classes through her life and won several art shows across the nation. She loved her church friends and attended Elm Street Church of the Nazarene and the First Church of the Nazarene.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Ott.

She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Everett and Jane Culp, of Lake Tapps, Washington; four sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry Lee Jr. and Tena Imes, of Chesapeake, John E. and Ginny Imes, of Flatwoods, J. David and Melanie Imes, of La Verne, California, and Jeff O. and Shawn Imes, of Alta Loma, California; grandchildren, Jerry, Michael, Melinda, Jeremiah “Bo,” James, Paul, Matthew Kevin, Angie, Alyssa, Scott, Kurt and Michelle; great-grandchildren Sammy, Katie, Ashley, Emily, Solomon, Gage, Jasmine, Mike, Jessie, Hunter and Annalivia.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, at the Elm Street Church of the Nazarene in Ironton with the Rev. Jean Ratliff and pastor Rob Hale officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. There will be a luncheon immediately following the service at the church. Robert Boll

Robert N. Boll, 75, of Jupiter, Florida, died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2014.

Robert proudly served in the U.S. Army and while he was stationed in Germany, he met the love of his life, Margot. They got married very soon after.

When they returned to the U.S., Robert went back to school to complete his bachelor’s degree at The Ohio State University. From there on, he continued his education by gaining a master’s degree from Southern Illinois University, and then graduated with a Ph.D. in higher education from University of New Mexico.

Robert valued education and had the talent and passion to help others learn in ways that many couldn’t. He worked as a professor as well as the division chairperson of humanities and arts at the New Mexico Jr. College, in Hobbs, New Mexico. Throughout his life he was also very actively involved at church, which included St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church in Hobbs; St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Albuquerque; and Church of Good Shepherd, Tequesta, Florida.

After retirement, Robert and his wife moved to Florida. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was very active in the lives of his grandchildren.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Margot; daughters, Gabriela Pino (Carmen) and Bonnie Boll; and grandchildren, Robert, Stefanie, Christopher, Noah and Timothy Pino.

Janie Rucker

Janie Lou Rucker, 71, of Chesapeake, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014, at her home. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville. Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by Hall Funeral Home and Crematory. Howell Williams

Howell Thomas Williams, 71, of Proctorville, died Friday, Sept. 26, 2014, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Kay Graham Williams. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday at Hall Funeral Home by the Rev. Glen Carmon. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour before the service on Monday. A Masonic service will be at 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
