The Ironton Farmers Market on Saturday will be the epicenter of downtown activity as several groups and organizations are involved in the festivities.
For the second year in a row from 9 a.m.-noon on Saturday members of Ironton In Bloom will give away free bologna and tomato sandwiches. Also from 9 a.m.-noon the “Senior Citizens Craft Store” will be open across Second Street at the Transit Center.
The Yvonne DeKay Dancers will entertain at 10 a.m. and participants in The Great “I”Town Scavenger Hunt can turn in item-finding forms.
“There’s four great reasons to come to the market,” Sam Heighton, market manager, said. “Don’t forget to do your shopping and complete a great day.”
Fall items are appearing, but Heighton said the market still offers a variety of fresh produce and homemade items, honey, crafts and baked goods.
The Farmers Market is open 7 a.m.-3 p.m. today and Saturday on Second Street in downtown Ironton. It is a project of Ironton aLive and is sponsored by Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.
