William Langdon

April 22, 1926-May 24, 2014

William Edward Langdon, 88, of Orlando, Fla., formerly of Stuart, Va. passed away May 24, 2014 at Florida Hospital Orlando. He was born April 22, 1926. Bill was a lineman and a foreman for Ohio Power Company.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. during World War II. He enjoyed rebuilding and collecting antique cars with his prize possession being a 1948 Lincoln. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Wanda Jean Langdon. He is survived by his son, Edward Langdon; daughter, Brenda Barlet; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren ;and two sisters, Joyce Skinner and Jenny Langdon Moore. The family is planning services near Ironton later in the fall.

 

 

Elta Eckman

Elta Mae Eckman, 78, of Ironton, died Saturday, June 7, 2014, at St. Mary’s Medical Center Huntington.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, by pastor Darrell Wooten.  Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park Huntington.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
