Patty and Harold Walden were honored with a party and dinner on March 29 to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.

The Rev. Lloyd Phipps married the couple on March 9, 1964 in Clintwood, Va. Harold retired from AK Steel in 2001 and Patty is a homemaker. They are both members of the Sheridan Freewill Baptist Church.

They have three children, Cheryl Ann, Patrick Neil and Michael Curtis; and five grandchildren, Miranda, Chandra, Noah, Esabella and Mallory.
