PROCTORVILLE — A Kitts Hill man was killed in a one-vehicle accident on State Route 775, five miles north of State Route 7.

The accident, which happened at approximately 9:13 p.m. Wednesday, was investigated by the Ironton Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

According to a release from the patrol, the vehicle had gone off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree. The only occupant in the car was the driver, David A. Esque, 43.

He was transported by the Lawrence EMS to St. Mary’s Medical Center. Assisting the patrol was the Windsor Township Volunteer Fire Department and the Proctorville Volunteer Fire Department. The accident remains under investigation.
