Darrell Cartmill
Darrell Wayne Cartmill, 51, of Ironton, entered his eternal life to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. The Paris, Ky. native was born Oct. 12, 1961, the son of James Cartmill of Winchester, Ky., and the late Virginia Mitchell Cartmill and his stepmother, the late Carolyn Cartmill. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Teresa Browning Cartmill.
Darrell was a 1979 graduate of George Rogers Clark High School in Winchester, and received his bachelor of science degree in pharmacy from University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy in 1984. He was a pharmacist for Walmart in Ashland, Ky., and a member of the First Baptist Church of Russell. He was an avid reader, loved history, a huge sports fan and loved UK Basketball.
In addition to his mother and his stepmother, he was preceded in death by maternal grandparents and paternal grandparents
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Maeghan Elisabeth Cartmill and Maereah Isabella Cartmill, both of Ironton; son, Jarrett Tyson Cartmill of Ironton; mother-in-law and father-in-law, whom he took to be a second set of parents, Bill “Buck” and Ruth Browning of Ironton; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerry and Norma Browning of Ironton; sister-in-law, Ginger Browning and Marvin Houser, both of Ashland, Ky.; nephew, Jacob Browning and Sami Hunt, both of South Point; niece, Olivia Houser of Ashland; and church family, dear friends, aunts, uncles and cousins
There will be a memorial service 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church, Russell with Pastor Ken Gowin and Minister Phil Lemaster officiating. There will be no public visitation. Phillips Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Russell Building Fund, 901 Ashland Drive, Russell, KY 41169. Daniel Hutchinson
Daniel J. Hutchinson, 86, of Yuma, Ariz., formerly of Pedro, died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013, in Yuma. There will be a private service under the direction of Funeraria Del Angel in Yuma.
Opal Capper
Opal Fay Capper, 90, of Proctorville, died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, at Midland Meadows Senior Living, Ona, W.Va. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home.
