Tim Throckmorton, recently was honored with the John Peter Muhlenberg Church Leadership Award at the 2013 annual banquet of Citizens for Community Values.

The Rev. John Peter Muhlenberg understood the times in which he lived.

In January of 1776, he preached a sermon from Ecclesiastes 3:8. After reading “There is a time for war and a time for peace,” he removed his clerical robe to reveal his military uniform underneath and challenged his congregation to help secure America’s freedom. His personal conviction and determination to uphold the truth, from the pulpit and beyond, convinced 300 men to join him in the 8th Virginia Regiment of the Continental Army.

Just as Muhlenberg understood the critical hour in which he lived, Throckmorton also understands the critical hour in which we live and the threats posed to religious freedom, family values and the Christian faith.

Throckmorton has served on the AWAKE 88 Team, which has developed a statewide network of pastors and citizens in each of Ohio’s 88 districts. Throckmorton is an author, columnist, communicator and senior pastor of Crossroads Church in Circleville.

He serves as the vice chair of the Facility Governing Board at Star Community Justice Center in Franklin Furnace as well as assisting various denominations and businesses in leadership training. For 10 years he worked for Daystar television in Ashland, Ky. hosting Tri State Celebration connecting him with church and political leaders from around the nation.

In 2011 Tim released a book and DVD entitled “Lest We Forget,” which is a study of Godly American heritage reflecting upon the nation’s founding. Throckmorton and his wife Terri have two children, a son Joe and a daughter, Stephanie who along with her husband TJ and granddaughter Kairi reside in Columbus.
