A former South Point police officer admitted to using his status to obtain drugs Wednesday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court.

Aaron Fradd, 28, of 426 Fourth St. West Apt. 61, South Point, was arraigned on a bill of information and pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of compounding a crime.

According to Lawrence County Prosecutor-elect Brigham Anderson, Fradd attempted to obtain steroids from a suspect, saying he would not charge the man with a crime if he handed over the drugs.

The Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Office and the Lawrence Drug and Major Crimes Task Force conducted an undercover investigation into the incident, resulting in Fradd admitting to the crime and his termination from the South Point Police Department.

Judge Charles Cooper sentenced Fradd to 180 days in the county jail with 150 days suspended, for a total of 30 days, as well as two years probation.

In other cases:

• Marjorie Angel, 27, of Greenup, Ky., was arraigned on a fifth-degree count of possession of drugs. Angel pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Cooper set bond at $20,000 cash or surety as set a pretrial for Jan. 2.

• David Barbour II, 29, of 100 Front St., Proctorville, admitted community-controlled sanctions violations. Cooper extended the man’s CCS commitment one year.

• Ginavita Macri, 35, of 118 County Road 1, South Point, was arraigned on a count of first-degree aggravated robbery with a handgun, to which she pleaded not guilty.

Cooper set bond at $100,000 cash or surety and set a pretrial for Jan. 2.

• Tony Rossiter, 42, of 113 County Road 195, Crown City, was arraigned on a second-degree count of felonious assault. The man pleaded not guilty and not guilty by reason on insanity.

Cooper set bond at $100,000 cash or surety and ordered a mental evaluation of Rossiter.

• Robert Thacker, 54, of 404 Township Road 301, Ironton, was sentenced to six years in prison for second-degree complicity to the illegal manufacture of drugs (meth) and misdemeanor inducing panic.

• Richard Cremeans II, 37, of 1043 County Road 59, Chesapeake, pleaded guilty to fifth-degree possession of cocaine and misdemeanor obstructing official business. A count of fifth-degree possession of drugs was dismissed.

Judge D. Scott Bowling sentenced Cremeans to 11 months in prison, 200 hours community service and a $1,250 fine.

• Jake Dodson, 19, of 322 Ridgeway St., Coal Grove, admitted CCS violations. Bowling sentenced the man to eight months in prison.

• David Salyers, 24, of 314 Heplar St., Ironton, admitted CCS violations. Bowling sentenced the man to eight months in prison.

• Ashley Workman, 23, of 306 Little Solida Road, South Point, admitted CCS violations. Bowling sentenced her to six months in prison.
