John Waginger, left, a senior at St. Joseph High School, helps optometrist Dr. Charles Wood, standing, use a retinal camera during Connie Pruitt’s annual eye exam Wednesday. Waginger was participating in Junior Achievement’s National Groundhog Job Shadow Day 2000. The day allowed about 300 children from seven different Tri-State high schools to spend time with their mentors, introducing career opportunities for upperclassmen, JA president Jenny Pemberton said. River Valley Health System, King’s Daughters Medical Center and Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital hosted 60 students. Local businesses like Dr. Wood’s office hosted other students.
